What is the PACVB?

Before we answer that - let's answer "What is a CVB?"

A CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau) is a non-profit destination marketing organization. Providing information about a specific destination is what a CVB does best. From providing visitors with brochures, maps and discounts to inviting convention attendees, delegations and sporting events to their towns, CVBs are great resources for business or pleasure travelers.

Most of the general public is not familiar with the "CVB" acronym, however it is widely recognized in tourism and meeting planner industries.

Now we can better answer "What is the PACVB?"

The Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (PACVB) is a visitor's resource for area services, dining, attractions, accommodations and events in the Peoria Area. We are a nonprofit, member based organization with the goal of welcoming overnight visitors to our area. Through our tourism department, convention sales, sports, and communications we are your one-stop-shop when it comes to what the Peoria Area can offer.

Our Mission:

To promote the Peoria Area as a destination for visitors and contribute to the economic growth of the communities we represent.

We focus primarily on three niche visitor-based markets:

Group/Leisure Travel

This includes groups and individuals including: motorcoach groups, clubs and community groups, individuals and families. Build your own custom itinerary or view from several one- and two-day itinerary ideas available. You'll want to plan at least a three day weekend to fully appreciate our area.

Sports

We assist Sporting Event organizers. The Peoria Area has hosted sporting events of all shapes and sizes - both indoor and outdoor. From softball tournaments to championship basketball to fencing and chess, our PACVB sports staff wants to bring exciting sporting events to the Peoria Area.

Conventions

Planning a meeting, retreat or convention? The PACVB can make your job easier and your event a success.
Registration and housing assistance, area services and information, press releases and media info, group dining and entertainment options are just a few services we offer. Our convention sales and services staff welcome your event to Play in Peoria!  

Partnership/Marketing 

Are you a business interested in becoming a Partner with the PACVB? Throughout the year we help promote local partner-businesses and services. We publish the Official Peoria Area Visitors Guide each year and have a newly redesigned website with the most up to date resources and interesting articles. Our historic Riverfront Visitors Center is located on the Peoria Riverfront and provides a wealth of information on the Peoria Area including brochures, maps, and souvenirs. Our partners support their community and want you to have the most pleasant experience possible, our extensive Business Directory has a diverse group of businesses and organizations that are at your service.
