Trivia questions - Once you answer correctly you will receive your next clue.

Clue #1 - Head to this Stark/Marshall County market - featuring wagon rides, playground, corn maze, farm animals, delicious bakery and unique gift shop.

Task #1 - Who Can Taste the Difference? (Pick which one will complete this task before reading instructions.)
Apples were Lincoln's favorite fruit. He had a unique way of eating them blossom end or bottom first.
Match the name of the variety to the corresponding apple slice. You'll have 3 tries and will be told how many you have correct - but not which ones. If you have not matched them all correctly after your third try, the number you have incorrect will be the number of minutes you will have to wait before receiving your next clue.
Clue #2- Head to this historic landmark in Woodford County where Lincoln practiced law.

Task #2 - Grab Your Partner
Watch a demonstration of a traditional 1850's polka popular during Lincoln's lifetime. Properly perform the "Patty Cake Polka" to proceed. You must meet the approval of judge in order to receive your next clue.
Clue #3- Head to Tazewell County to Central Illinois' premier sporting clay
and hunting club.

Task #3 - Which one will hit the mark? (Pick which team member will perform before reading further.)
One of Lincoln's hobbies was ax throwing - test your skill as you try to hit the target. Follow the direction of Dewey and as others show up, you will rotate turns. Once your ax sticks on the target, you will receive your next clue.
Task #4 - Find and Follow the Lincoln Mile
Your envelope includes a brochure with a map of The Lincoln Mile. Stop at each marker which has a unique attachment to Lincoln. Collect 1 plastic bag from the markers and bring them with you to the #10 marker to get your next clue. Note: not all markers have bags to collect - we will verify that you have the correct amount.
Clue #5 - Head to Mason County. Before you get to where "it's hard to find a more beautiful landscape", turn into the city's Business Park.
Lincoln was an eloquent speaker and was fond of poetry. While you are on the road, write a rhyming poem about this event and your experiences. Must be at least 8 lines. Bring it with you to the next stop.

Task #5 - Who can deliver through rain and sleet and dark of night?

Listen to the history of Lincoln in Havana. Recite your poem then deliver it the old fashioned way. In return, you will receive your next clue.
Clue #6 - Experience the dramatic restoration of floodplain lakes & wetlands here in Fulton County.

Task #6 - Canoe Canoe?
Lincoln was the only president to hold a patent. Although never built it was an apparatus designed to lift boats over sandbars or other obstacles.
Both team members must canoe to the decoys and lift the decoy that has their team color up and into the boat. Canoe the duck decoy back to shore to receive your next clue.
Clue #7 - Pit Stop - Head back to Peoria. On your way, be on the lookout for Rice Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area. Make a pit stop there.

Task #7 - Who Can Follow Exact Directions?
(Decide which team member will perform this task before reading further.)
Use the bags you collected at the Lincoln Mile to build a log cabin EXACTLY like the one in the instructions (no corral or fencing - just the cabin). Your teammate CANNOT physically help but can call out directions from the designated area. After 10 minutes, you can switch places with your teammate - but only one time. Once it has been approved, you will receive your next clue.
Clue #8 - Head to Peoria's cultural hub featuring art exhibitions, artist studios, art instruction, comedy improv, poetry nights, yoga and jazz performances.

Task #8 - Lincoln's love of art and education
The night Lincoln died, he had these items in his pocket:
1) Pocket knife
2) A linen handkerchief

7) A leather wallet
8) Nine old newspaper clippings
9) A Confederate $5 bill
Peoria Notre Dame High School students have used these items to create collages. They have each been given one additional item unique to their artwork to incorporate.
On the attached sheet you will find the hidden objects - find them within your group of artwork and correctly point them out to get your next clue.
Clue #9 - Hurry to your last task across the street where our history meets the future.

Task #9- Get a quick tutorial, then decide who will be on foot and who will motor their way as you return your segway to the finish line at this historic building which provides area brochures, maps & souvenirs.
