EastSide Centre home to IHSA state softball championship next weekend
EAST PEORIA, IL - The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) will be hosting the Class 1A and 2A Girls Fast Pitch Softball State Finals June 3-4 at EastSide Centre. Four teams from each division qualified to compete for the championship title.
Tournaments start at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 3. The championship games will be played at 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, June 4.
Tickets for all games cost $6, but are free for children ages 2 and under. The community is encouraged to support student athletes by attending the championship tournament.
The IHSA mission is to govern the equitable participation in interscholastic athletics and activities that enrich the educational experience. The annual state softball championships are one of the many ways in which the IHSA works to provide students with positive athletic outlets.

The 1A and 2A Girls Fast Pitch Softball State Finals will create an economic impact of about $420,000 and fill 300 hotel rooms in the Peoria Area. There will be about 2,500 individuals in attendance.
The PACVB represents an eight county region including Bureau, Fulton, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, and Woodford. The organization's mission is to promote the Peoria Area as a destination for visitors and contribute to the economic growth of the communities they represent.
