Peoria Speedway to host state championship race
PEORIA, IL - Racecar drivers will compete in the Illinois State Championship race Saturday, Sept. 3, at Peoria Speedway.
Almost 100 drivers are expected to participate, racing Street Stocks, Limited Late models, 4 cylinders and Mod Lite cars. Winners of each race will receive a trophy and cash prizes.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with races beginning at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $3 for children ages 8 to 15 and free to kids 7 and under.

The Peoria Speedway's Illinois State Championship will create an economic impact of about $13,500 and fill 15 hotel rooms in the Peoria Area. There will be about 150 individuals in attendance.
The PACVB represents an eight county region including Bureau, Fulton, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. The organization's mission is to promote the Peoria Area as a destination for visitors and contribute to the economic growth of the communities they represent.
