PTA's Peoria Open set for Sept. 17-18 at Glen Oak Park
PEORIA, IL - The 2011 Peoria Open will be played Sept. 17-18 at Glen Oak Park. The Peoria Tennis Association (PTA) is sponsoring the tournament.
The Peoria Open is a singles and doubles tournament offered to players of any age, ability and residency.
"It's just a fun way for everyone to play in a competitive atmosphere and enjoy the last week or two of outdoor tennis before the winter sets in," said Paul Lenzen, the Peoria Tennis Association's Tournament Director. "It is our last main event of the year."
Spots are still available in the tournament. The deadline to register is Sept. 15. The cost is $15 for singles; $30 for doubles. To register, go to peoriatennis.com.
The Peoria Tennis Association is an organization of tennis enthusiasts interested in providing opportunities for its members and the community to participate in various tennis activities throughout the year. PTA organizes year-round social events, leagues, ladders and competitive tournaments.

The Peoria Tennis Association's 2011 Peoria Open Tournament will create an economic impact of about $13,500 and fill 15 hotel rooms in the Peoria Area. There will be about 150 individuals in attendance.
The PACVB represents an eight county region including Bureau, Fulton, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. The organization's mission is to promote the Peoria Area as a destination for visitors and contribute to the economic growth of the communities they represent.
