March Madness Heats up with state wheelchair basketball championships
PEORIA, IL - Amidst the March Madness extravaganza at the Peoria Civic Center, the National Wheelchair Basketball Association will also be hosting the 2012 Wheelchair Basketball State Championship Tournament on March 9-10.
The Wheelchair State Basketball Tournament will consist of a record high of eleven teams. All games will be played on Friday and Saturday in the March Madness Experience Hall. A few participating teams include Chicago Skyhawks, GLASA Wave, NEDSRA Jr. Bulls, Peoria Wildcats, Rockford Jr. Chariots, Windy City Warriors and Rolling Falcons.
On Friday, the games are scheduled to run from 10:15 a.m. to 4:25 p.m. Rotary of Peoria will be hosting a supper at 6:00 p.m. in the Banquet Hall for players and attendees following the final game.
On Saturday, the games are scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. and should conclude by 4 p.m.
The top three teams will receive awards. State qualifier pins and t-shirts will also be awarded to all participants.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association is comprised of over 200 teams from across 22 conferences and seven divisions. Founded in 1948, the association has men's, women's, intercollegiate and youth teams throughout the U.S.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association's 2012 IHSA State Wheelchair Basketball Tournament will be in correlation with March Madness.
The PACVB represents an eight county region including Bureau, Fulton, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. The organization's mission is to promote the Peoria Area as a destination for visitors and contribute to the economic growth of the communities they represent.
