JAMfest Cheer and Dance Competition
PEORIA -JAMfest Cheer and Dance Events, Inc. is set to host its annual Wild JAM Cheer and Dance Competition on October 17, 2009 at the Peoria Civic Center.
Over 150 cheer and dance teams will be competing in the Wild JAM, which will feature competitors from all throughout the Midwest. The cheerleading competition is divided into four categories (school/youth, all-star, collegiate and cheer super nationals) and the dance competition into three (all-star/school/youth, collegiate and dance super nationals).
The day will be split up into four "JAMsessions" to break up the different divisions. Aside from the competition, each JAMsession will also include games and activities, as well as an awards ceremony. Admission to all JAMfest events is free and videotaping is allowed.
The list of teams participating in Wild JAM will be posted on the JAMfest website, www.jamfest.com, by Monday, October 12th, 2009. The performance order will also be posted at that time.
Over the last three years, a total of more than 10,000 spectators and more than 350 teams have attended this exciting event.
JAMfest Cheer and Dance Events Inc. produces the 2009 Wild JAM and is located in Louisville, KY. JAMfest is in its 15th season of producing events. Throughout the year JAMfest hosts dance and cheer events, including competitions, national championships and spirit conferences. Cheer divisions include All-Star Cheer, School Cheer and Stunt. Dance divisions include pom, jazz, hip-hop, kick, variety and more.
The PACVB represents an eight county region including Bureau, Fulton, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, and Woodford. The organization's mission is to promote the Peoria Area as a destination for visitors and contribute to the economic growth of the communities they represent.

JAMfest will create an economic impact of $19,500-$29,850 and 150 room nights for the Peoria Area. There will be approximately 600 attendees.
