Peoria Chiefs
Although Wrigley Field and Busch Stadium are more than
two-and-a-half hours away, there is still plenty of baseball
to enjoy right here in Peoria!
The Peoria Chiefs are the Class A Minor League Affiliation of the Chicago Cubs, and they play all of their home games at O'Brien Field in downtown Peoria. Chiefs' games make a great outing for the entire family and feature a number of nightly promotions that everyone can enjoy like fireworks displays and Half-Price Mondays. On Wednesdays, fans can also enjoy FREE hot dogs and peanuts through the seventh inning.
O'Brien Field, located at 730 SW Jefferson St., is a state-of-the-art stadium that seats 7,500 people and has been called one of the top facilities in minor league baseball.
Tickets for home games can be purchased by either visiting or
calling the O'Brien Field Box Office at (309) 680-4008 or online at http://www.peoriachiefs.com/.
Although everyone enjoys the promotions and antics of minor league baseball, perhaps the best part about watching a Class A game is that any of the players on the field could develop into a Major League superstar. Former Chiefs' players include retired greats like Greg Maddux, Rafael Palmeiro, and current Yankees manager Joe Girardi, as well as some of the biggest names in today's Major Leagues like last year's National League MVP Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals and Dan Haren of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
While you are here, enjoy the beautiful downtown riverfront!
Peoria's riverfront is just a short walk from the ballpark and offers so much to see and do. From great restaurants and shopping to fun nightlife and entertainment - the downtown scene has something for everyone. Listen to live music at Centerstage during the summer months or enjoy a relaxing cruise aboard the historic Spirit of Peoria with the family. The possibilities are endless!
