“A NOVEL APPROACH TO GAMING” – BOOKS WITH A GAMING FOCUS

March 3, 2015 - Starts at 7:00 pm

Illinois Central College’s “Between the Lines” Program will present “A Novel Approach to Gaming,” a closer look at books with a gaming focus, on Tuesday, March 3, at 7 pm, at the ICC North Campus Arbor Auditorium.

Games are fun! We enjoy experiencing virtual reality, figuring out clues or puzzles to win, and competing against other motivated players. Reading about gaming is just as fun! Did you enjoy reading Ready Player One? Were you starving for more of the Hunger Games? If you enjoyed reading about the Oasis and the hunt for Halliday’s Egg in Ready Player One, please join us to learn about other books with a gaming focus you may enjoy, including Epic by Conor Kostick and For the Win, by Cory Doctorow, just to name two.

“Between the Lines” is a lecture series presented by the faculty members of the English, Humanities and Language Studies Department at ICC.  Since the series began in the fall of 1990, ICC has offered more than 100 presentations on a wide variety of literary topics.

The goal of the series is to offer literary presentations which will interest students and people in the community as well as promote reading literacy and scholarly study.

The programs are free and open to the public.

For more information, please contact Jennifer Hopp at jhopp@icc.edu or betweenthelines@icc.edu.
