RED, WHITE, AND BOOM!

THE LARGEST FIREWORK DISPLAY IN ILLINOIS!

RED, WHITE and BOOM! 2015 is a “pyromusical”… a blend of fireworks fired from a barge in the middle of the Illinois River synchronized to a patriotic musical soundtrack broadcast on Alpha Media stations! Spectators are encouraged to bring portable radios tuned to one of the Alpha Media stations to enjoy the added dimension of music that matches the fireworks!

What is now UnityPoint Health - Methodist | Proctor Red White and Boom began 27 years ago as Skyconcert 1987 with music synchronized to KZ93, the station that is now 93.3 The Drive. The fireworks display took a huge leap forward in 2007 when UnityPoint Health - Methodist | Proctor began as the title sponsor and all Alpha Media stations began promoting the event and airing the synchronized music soundtrack.

As in recent years, the cities of Peoria and East Peoria will come together with Alpha Media, UnityPoint Health - Methodist Medical Center | Proctor, the Peoria Park District and the Peoria Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to launch the spectacular display of pyrotechnics into the skies over the riverfronts. Festivities include live bands in addition to the fireworks extravaganza, launched by Melrose Pyrotechnics of Kingsbury, Indiana from barges in the middle of the Illinois River.

The event was expanded to multiple days in 2008 when a series of concerts was added and Stay and Play Weekend was created to help encourage more support of many events surrounding the weekend. Over $3,500 of fireworks per minute will be launched during the show on July 4, 2015. An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the continued support of our corporate sponsors.

FRIDAY JULY 3rd!  MOLLY HATCHET feat. THe Outlaws
