Carl Anderson and His New Orleans Jazz Band is a regular favorite for the Central Illinois area. Carl is joined by six other seasoned, traditional jazz musicians to bring back this truly original jazz style to our area. The band members currently include musicians from Illinois and Iowa. The CIJS House Band will kick off the first set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. Run River City Marathon

This is the first year for the Run River City Marathon in Peoria.  The inaugural event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 19th.  The event is offering many options for potential participants:  a 5K, 25K, Marathon, 4 Person Marathon relay and a kid's 1.2 mile race.  The course will run throughout downtown Peoria and city neighborhoods which showcase Peoria in its finest form. The first year of the Youth Sports Expo, presented by Chillicothe Xtreme Sports, will be taking place at the Peoria Civic Center during Memorial Day weekend.  The Expo will represent youth sports organizations from throughout the state of Illinois. Experience the camp with guided nature hikes, open fishing, basic canoe skills instruction, and pond studies at the lake’s edge.
