The scene is the exclusive fur salon of Bodley and Crouch, where Crouch struggles to keep things going despite the energetic philandering of his partner. At the moment, Bodley is trying to secure the affections of his latest would-be mistress by selling her husband an expensive fur coat for a fraction of its real worth. But as luck would have it, the husband seizes the bargain coat as the perfect gift for his own mistress, whereupon the complications explode uproariously, with poor Crouch caught in the middle. Suspicious wives, mistaken identities, scantily clad girls in closets and a continuous barrage of rapid fire jokes keeps the play bubbling along merrily right up to the end.

Jubilee State Park will come alive with the sights and sounds of a Colonial Settlement organized by the Colonial Event Committee, an organization of dozens of amateur historians and re-enactors. Anyone who has watched the History Channel or seen the movie "Patriot" will love being part of History come alive.

The event will feature colonial, civilian and military life from 1750 to 1790. Visitors will be able to visit a Native American village, interact with colonists in their everyday life and participate in soldier's drills and military tactics with British Red Coats. The guest-friendly event will strive to educate the public and will be situated on the 3,300 acres of forest and prairie wilderness that comprise Jubilee State Park.

Food and drink will be available for purchase from the Brimfield Men's Club, and live music by accomplished musicians of period music that will bring the sounds of the era alive.

The re-enactor's group decided to hold the event to bring a taste of Colonial American History to the public.  With years of re-enacting experience and a love of living history the committee found Jubilee College State Park to be the perfect wilderness setting for a Colonial settlement. The event will include characters from Colonial History, such as French Fur traders, Native Americans, British Soldiers and Colonists. Public participation is the goal at this event. Reenactors from at least 8 states will take part.

"We want families to have a good time", said event organizer Jim Winter, Captain of American Provincial Forces. "The public will be able to take part in and do things and not just watch."

Special features of the weekend will include: British Redcoat military drills, Minutemen, Woodland Indian village, musicians, hunters, trades and crafts people, settlers building a cabin, battle reenactment, and much more.

Come see Colonial daily life first hand by taking part in activities and experience what it would have been like to live 250 years ago in early Colonial America.

We request that you change to 18th-century dress as soon as your camp is set up and remain in proper dress when in the camp.  We also ask that your camp remain18th century at all times, even if there are no spectators present.  We are striving to put on the most authentic muster possible, not only for the spectators, but for the participants as well.

Attire should be military or eastern frontier civilian (1750-1790).  Pay attention to headgear, small clothes, footwear and outerwear.  No long-fringed buckskins.  Children should be properly attired for their age.  Flintlocks only, no percussion.

Vehicles will be allowed in the camp area to unload and load only.  No overnight parking in the camp area.  No vehicles in camp after 8:30 am Saturday unless it is an emergency.

Tents must be authentic to the period.  All non-18th century items should be kept out of sight at all times.  Pay attention to drink containers, food items, cooking and eating utensils, make-up, jewelry, watches and modern eyeglasses.

Interpretation and demonstration are encouraged in the camps and by sutlers.  Sales are also permitted by license agreement with the park.  Sutlers must deal with 18th-century items only.  No rubber tomahawks and neon feathers.  We want to emphasize authenticity at the event.  There will be a trade committee to check on items.
