Methodist Red White and Boom Event Bigger and Better in 2008!

The largest 4th of July celebration in downstate Illinois just got bigger. Methodist Red, White and Boom! will be expanding to three days of festivities including two national act concerts.

On Thursday, July 3rd, JMP Radio Group together with Riverfront Entertainment welcomes Cheap Trick, one of the most covered bands of all time, to the Festival Park stage on the Peoria Riverfront. TImeless classics like "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender," and the 80's lighter-waving favorite, "The Flame," make Cheap Trick a musical institution.

Then, on Saturday, July 5th, country music heavyweight Diamond Rio, a band that helped define 'young country' in the early 90's, will perform at the Landing on the Peoria riverfront. Diamond Rio's rich vocal harmonies are evident in songs like "Meet Me in the Middle, " "In a Week or Two," and "One More Day."

These concerts are in addition to $60,000 spectacular fireworks display taking place July 4th viewable from both the Peoria and East Peoria riverfront. The pyrotechnics display will light the skies with a unique blend of fireworks synchronized to a special musical soundtrack that will be broadcast on JMP Radio Group stations.

Both sides of the riverfront will host family-friendly activities including inflatable bouncers and slides, live concerts on the 4th, and this year, JMP Radio Group is proud to announce a U.S. military presence to help with the festivities. Members of the U.S. Marines, Air Force and Navy will be on hand with interactive displays to celebrate our nation's birthday.
