Day One

Remember to take time to browse their eclectic gift shop filled with numerous opportunities to excite your taste buds!
Now for the sense of touch…head to The Shoppes at Grand Prairie where you can get your hands on anything your heart desires! This open-air shopping and lifestyle center is anchored by Bergners, Linens N’ Things, Old Navy, Borders and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Let your “feel”ers run wild in all 50+ stores!
Hungry? Exercise your sense of taste again and dine at any of the fine choices at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie. Whether you want to sit down for a relaxing lunch or want to grab something quick, The Shoppes have your tastes covered!
Time to give your eyes something to feast on. Take a sightseeing cruise aboard the Spirit of Peoria! Enjoy the views from the authentic paddlewheel driven boat as you travel up the Illinois River. No matter what the season, your eyes will marvel at the breathtaking riverfront.
Want to give your “feel”ers another chance at happiness? Visit the shops in the Riverfront District where you can get your hands on antiques, local artwork, home accents and many other items. Also, remember to stop by the Riverfront Visitors Center to pick up maps and brochures of the area.
After checking into one of the fabulous downtown hotels, prepare for another feast. A range of dining options is available no matter what your taste buds are craving.
It’s your ears turn to be spoiled. Enjoy a glorious performance from the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Peoria Players Theatre group, or Eastlight Theatre group in East Peoria. Any of these groups will peak your ears attention for the evening.
Day Two
Awake from your slumber and feel your artistic side come alive! Fired Up, the paint your own pottery and art studio, will test your senses of sight and touch while you chose your bisque and create your very own work of art. Once you have finished your masterpiece, your artwork will be fired and mailed to you within a week. Everyone is an artist when you visit Fired Up!
Round out your morning with visits to unique shops in Peoria Heights, such as Apache Junction, Harp & Thistle Imports, Inc., Leaves ‘N Beans Roasting Co., and many others. Diverse lunch destinations are also available in Peoria Heights.
Your sense of smell will be on overdrive when you arrive at Lavender Creek Farm in Mackinaw, just minutes from Peoria. Fields of organic lavender plants welcome you to this unique, relaxing experience. Pick your own bouquets and browse the Lavender Store for handmade soaps, candles, lotions and more!
Next, travel down the road to the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard. Nestled on acres of land lined with grape vines, enjoy complimentary wine tastings and beautiful panoramic views. Let your eyes also wander around the gift shop!
