DAY ONE

Camp Grove Wind Farm- Over 100 wind turbines covering 14,000 acres in Stark and Marshall Counties make up the several hundred million dollar Camp Grove Wind Farm. Forty of these environmentally friendly power plants are located in Stark County and provide for great sightseeing adventure.

CB&Q Railroad Depot - The depot located in Wyoming has been restored and now serves as headquarters and visitor's center for the Rock Island Trail State Park. The inside offers a brief history lesson of the depot and displays wildlife.

Indian Creek Vineyard - Steeped in rich tradition, heritage and history, the vineyard also served as a bed and breakfast. Pull up a chair in the Old Red Barn that now serves as a wine shop and tasting room.

Festival 56 - Illinois' largest summer theater festival. The festival presents a wide spectrum of programming, from free productions of Shakespeare to classic and world premier musicals and the masterworks of playwrights such as Steinbeck, Ibsen and Tennessee Williams.

 

DAY TWO

Hornbaker Gardens - A family-owned and operated nursery specializing in perennial flowers. There is always something new popping up! Make the trip, you'll be glad you did.

Owen Lovejoy Homestead- The 1838 Owen Lovejoy Homestead was the home of a fiery abolitionist minister and a famed station on the Underground Railroad. Rooms are furnished with period furniture. Visitors are invited to look into the hidden area above the stairs where runaway slaves were hidden.

Red Covered Bridge- One of only five remaining original covered bridges in Illinois. This beautiful landmark is a delight for artists, photographers and nature lovers. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Princeton's Main Street- Great finds are in every shop! Roam through all of the unique stores along Princeton's Main Street, from Annie's Little Pots, specialty stores, antique stores, an old fashioned movie theatre and more!
