Recently Renamed, Central Illinois' Busiest Airport is Getting a $65 Million Upgrade
Embarking on a new era of development-a new terminal and a new name honoring an American hero, Peoria International Airport will ensure your smooth arrival and warm welcome to the area. The original terminal was constructed in the 1950's. The new, state-of-the-art facility will be approximately 125,000 sq.ft. with eleven gates and will be able to service well over 2,000,000 passengers annually. Construction of the new terminal building will take approximately two years and should be complete by January 2011.

Peoria's International Airport also possesses the longest runway in the State of Illinois, after those at Chicago-O'Hare International Airport.
