Festival of Lights Itineraries



The East Peoria Festival of Lights, celebrating their 26th Anniversary in 2010, will bring you an abundance of holiday cheer!
As one of the largest lighted nighttime festivals in the nation,
this winter wonderland getaway will bring excitement to any group!

DAY ONE

 

Spirit of Peoria - Board the Spirit of Peoria, a unique and historic paddle wheeler, for a hot, homemade buffet and lively holiday entertainment. (Admission)

Luthy Botanical Gardens Poinsettia Display - This is an eye-pleaser! With over 1,000 poinsettias on display and festively decorated Christmas trees, your holiday cheer will surely elevate!  (Admission)

Narrated Nativity Scene - Drive through the Narrated Nativity Scene and see the beautiful handmade attraction. The life-size structures take on a three-dimensional appearance at night.  A 2-minute narration is available by tuning to radio station 1610 AM.

FOLEPI's Winter Wonderland - Finish the night off with the two-mile drive through electric park showcasing numerous animated displays and LED lighted floats, with the return of some favorites, such as the ski jump and downhill skiers. (Admission)


DAY TWO

Pettengill-Morron House and John C. Flanagan House - Take a tour of these two homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Both houses allow you to discover the lifestyles of times past, and are dressed for the holidays! (Admission)

Toraason Glass - Experience a true form: Glassblowing! A local artisan, Hiram Toraason, will give a demonstration and will have Christmas ornaments and other gallery pieces on display for purchase. (Admission)

Historic Holiday Traditions - Take another unique look back in time while experiencing Historic Holiday Traditions. The 128-year-old Doering Homeplace is decorated for the holidays by the East Peoria Historical Society, and showcases 1800s-style handmade ornaments. (Admission)


Eastlight Theatre - Experience "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"! This Andrew Lloyd Webber smash Broadway musical is a Festival of Lights tradition for 19 years!

FOLEPI's Freedom Park - A must! The Illinois River at RiverFront Park in East Peoria is lit by a patriotic
theme, featuring a 100-foot lighted red, white and blue Christmas tree. A Family Wall will be erected to allow for photos and mementos of loved ones serving in the military to be posted. This attraction is outdoors, so dress for the occasion.
