Red, White and BOOM!
Come to the Peoria Area and watch the largest 4th of July fireworks celebration in downstate Illinois with more fireworks than ever before! The 2010 Methodist Red, White and BOOM! 4th of July Festival is held on the Peoria and East Peoria, IL riverfronts. Stay and Play! With award-winning accommodations, fabulous restaurants and shopping, you'll want to come back next year. Returning to the 4th of July Festival is the Prairie Air Show! They will be presenting a July 4th preview of selected performances from their upcoming 2010 show scheduled for July 24 and 25 at the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport. The air show precedes the fireworks show right on the riverfront and will blow your socks off! The aircrafts do amazing aerobatics in the sky, it's a show you don't want to miss. In fact, the entire 4th of July weekend will be full of events, food fair, live music and entertainment!
On Saturday July 3rd, the riverfront will be host to Central Illinois' largest classic car cruise-in with over 300 cars from all over the state. Chuck McCarty, founder of the Central IL Cruisers, says you'll see it all. " See muscle cars, antiques, street rods, new and old, it will be a great time for the whole family," says McCarty. Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino Balloons at the Park
It's coming! The Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino Balloons at the Park! This three day world class hot air balloon festival will be held July 16, 17, and 18 at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. Come see hot air balloon flights, spectacular evening balloon glows, live entertainment, kids play area, monster truck rides and more! Steamboat Sports Festival
Play in Peoria! The annual Steamboat Sports Festival includes the Steamboat Classic attracting top athletes from around the world. The festival is all weekend long, June 17, 18 and 19 on the Peoria Riverfront and is packed with family fun. Enjoy live music and entertainment, carnival rides, a bags tournament, motorcycle stunt show, singing competition and a whole lot more. Steamboat Classic, the anchor event of the Steamboat Sports Weekend, features two races with a common starting line and finish--the world's fastest 4-mile and Illinois' toughest 15K. The 4-mile is a flat, fast course attracting world-class runners from around the world and boasts world records in every category at 4 miles. The 15K is a strong regional race which features two arduous loops through Peoria's historic Glen Oak Park. All runners and walkers are welcome.
