The start of fall brings football games, bonfires, and cooler weather to the area. But, in Central Illinois fall also means it is time for new and time-honored festivals and events to celebrate the season! Below you can find a full list of festivals and events to save the dates for this fall.
The Peoria Oktoberfest: Sept 20th - 22nd
The first Oktoberfest was held in October 1801 in Unich, Germany in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage ot Princess Therese which last an entire week. Over the years, the festival was moved to September and starts the first weekend in September and ends the first Sunday in October.
Just like the fun filled Havana Oktoberfest, the Peoria Oktoberfest offeres amazing live music, food, and of course beer on the beautiful downtown Peoria Riverfront! This year will feature Die Schwarzwald Vagabunden straight from Germany! Plus, don't forget to sign up for the 8th Annual Das Bier Run 5K!

Pricing: All General Admission Tickets or Passes may be purchased either online or at the Main Gate. Cash and major credit cards are accepted at the Main Gate.

Sunday between 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. adult admission is FREE with a canned food donation for the Peoria Food Bank
Historic downtown Washington, IL is a beautiful place filled with great specialty shops and is an amazing way to spend the weekend! The Autumn Fest of the Square will ensure all the shops will be open late along with great live music, yummy food trucks, free carriage rides, kids actives plus more!
The third weekend in September is always filled with a scenic view, hearty food, unique shopping, and family fun activities at the Stark County Fall Festival! everything from antiques, crafts, flea markets, demonstrations, local enternaiment, great food, and of course the beautiful scenery!

It's the 57th annual Peoria Fine Art Fair that brings amazing original art to Central Illinois and you cannot miss this event! As one of the oldest art orgganizations in the country, the Peoria Art Guild Fine Art Fiar is nationally recognized and all the proceeds benefit the Art Guild's community outreach and programming.
This beautiful event takes place right no the Peoria Riverfrotn and showcases 130 nationally recognzied artists who love Peoria! There will be original works of art including jewelry, paintings, ceramics, photography, digital art, printmaking, mixed media, metal, glass, wood, sculpture, fiber, leather and wearable fiber. There will also be live music from local artists and food and beverages from some of Peoria's favorite resturants.

If you've ever wanted to attend an authentic European Market well then Market at the Park on September 28th is for you! Luthy Botanical Garden brings an amazing open-air market right here to Central Illinois complete with crepes, antiques, pastries, herbs, vintage finds, beautiful hand-cut flowers, plus more!
You can enjoy a fun day filled with local artists, yummy food, and the beautiful gardens of Luthy. If by chance it is raining on the day of the event there is a rain date set for September 29th so you don't have to miss out on this amazing experience.

Calling all foodies in the Central Illinois area! If you didn't have a chance to make it to the Taste of Peoria or Taste of the Heights you have to make the drive to Canton for the Taste of Canton. From Havana to Farmington, some of your favorite restaurants will be represented!
Besides all the delicous food that will be there to sample there will also be wine, beer, live music, and a pie eating competition sponsored by Princess Creations Cake! Judges will be on site to choose the best appetizer, best entree, and best dessert.

Come on our and have an old-fashioned good time every Thursday in October at Sommer Farm! Roasting hot dogs, chips, baked beans, s'mores, and a hayrack ride, what more could you want for the whole family! Costumes are also strongly encouraged so you can get some good use out of those Halloween costumes this year!
The Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive travels throughout all of Fulton County, roughly 140 driven miles, where you can experience all the beautiful natural wonders of the Soon River Valley. Since 1968 this scenic drive has hosted a fall festival the first two weekends in October where the surrounding communities host visitors from all over with local art, food, museums, shops and more!

Wheels O' Time is one of Central Illinois' hidden gems that can take you back in time! On October 13th head out to Dunlap for Wheels O' Time's Fall Festival which will feature blacksmithing, live music, special exhbits that aren't normally open, and demonstrations.
Chrysanthemum Show "The Great Pumpkin" at Luthy Botanical Garden: Oct 11th-Nov 3rd
Bring the whole family out to Luthy Botanical Garden to see all the beautiful fall color and maybe even see the Great Pumpkin! Filled with chrysanthemums, the Conservatory is a great way to spend a chilly afternoon during the fall season.
