Joann Parker-Young and her husband Gregory love working together and that shines through in their product.  

“Spending time with Gregory, my husband is such an amazing part of owning our business,” said Joann.

When asked about the challenges for her business she jokingly replied back with working with her lovely husband!

This fun-loving couple makes up the team that offers the Peoria area over 50 flavors of freshly made popcorn featuring flavors like Jalapeno and Sea Salt Caramel. They want potential customers to know that Young’s Popcorn Heaven is a thriving business and they want to continue to grow by treating people well.

“If you have a passion, just go for it,” said Joann. “My Mom always advised that nothing beats a failure but a try.”

The couple uses various ways to connect with their customers. In fact, one of the ways you can connect with them during the summer is at the Peoria Riverfront Farmers’ Market. Their sincere smiles and comfortable laughter easily catch your attention.  

To strengthen Peoria’s Black community, they do events all over the city.  The Youngs are members of the Black Business Alliance and often donate to charity.

Down the road, the Youngs consider expanding and relocating.  For now, they have taken their well-earned place in Peoria’s business landscape.
