The Santa Claus Parade
PACE presents the longest running holiday parade in the country...the 122nd Annual Parade
will step off at 10:15 a.m. on November 27, 2009 in downtown Peoria, featuring costumed characters, novelty walking units, horse units, decorated floats, marching bands, and of course Santa Claus.

Yule Like Peoria
Holiday Walk-A-Bout
Commercial buildings in downtown Peoria
host various forms of entertainment. Refreshments will be provided in some buildings, an ice carving contest will be held at Peoria Courthouse Plaza, costumed characters will be walking around, and people can decorate the street lights throughout downtown. Admission is free. Courthouse Tree Lighting is at 6 p.m.

East Peoria Festival of Lights Parade
The Festival of Lights annual Parade of Lights always occurs the Saturday after Thanksgiving, this year on Nov. 28, 2009, starting at 5:45p.m., on three miles of Washington Street starting on one side of the city and ending just past downtown. The parade features 30 floats shaped entirely from lights, including the chopper motorcycle float illuminated with LED lights, a 70-foot long float of the famous Clydesdale horse team pulling a delivery wagon, the starship Enterprise illuminated with 48,000 LED light bulbs, and the 95-foot-long smoke-spewing China dragon.
