Opening day for trails takes place on March 28th! Join us at Junction City from 9am-12pm to celebrate Opening Day!

Rails to Trails Conservancy with the help of Friends of the Rock Island Trail are co-sponsoring this event at Junction City Shopping Center in Peoria. The trail opening will take place nation-wide. This celebration is to bring awareness to the full completion of RIT last spring to the community and to make use of it. Slated activities include group bike ride, hike, nature & bird watching, group running to name a few.

Join us for our 18th Annual Easter Egg Festival at Franciscan Recreation Complex on Saturday, March 28 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Bring your Easter baskets and join in the hunt for colorful eggs filled with candy and prizes! Our egg hunt begins promptly at 10:15 a.m. Before and after the hunt, join us in the gymnasium for snacks, a coloring contest, face painting, and more. We’ll even get a visit from a very special some-bunny...

Children ages 1-12 are welcome to join in the Easter Egg Hunt. The Hunt will be divided into three age groups. Cost is $6 for residents and $8 for non-residents.

They helped build Caterpillar's yellow iron, but these employees were even better with a basketball in their hands. Before the NBA became what it is today, there was the
Caterpillar Diesels and the Peoria Cats - one of basketball's dominant teams.
The exhibit features photos, videos, the 1952 Olympic Gold Medal from Helsinki, Finland and several never before seen artifacts.

Looking for a hopping good time? Bounce on over to the Peoria Zoo on Saturday, March 28 for our annual Easter Egg Scramble, loaded with candy and fun!
There will be three sessions broken down by age group: 10:30 am for children ages 0-3 years, 10:50 am for children ages 4-6 years, and 11:10 am for children ages 7-9 years.
Cost of the special event is $6.50 for non-member children; $3.50 for member children; and $9.00 for non-member adults. Cost of admission for this event includes Zoo admission! Member adults are free.

The Peoria Park District’s RiverPlex Recreation and Wellness Center and OSF Wellness services are proud to sponsor the fifth Biggest Loser at the RiverPlex! Let us help you reclaim your health!
The program begins January 10, 2015 with an orientation and kick-off event where all participants’ starting weights will be recorded. Competition and training begins the week of January 19 and will end on May 2.
Participants will compete to lose weight and body fat. Each individual will be put on a team of six to eight people, and each team will have two personal trainers to train them twice a week for 14 weeks. Teams will participate in Nutrition Sessions with a licensed OSF Registered Dietitian, and participants will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the competition.
What’s included:
• Group Personal Training sessions, twice a week for 14 weeks
• Nutrition Sessions with OSF Registered Dietitians, once a week for 10 weeks
• Five Wellness Coaching sessions
• Weekly weigh-ins
• Two Bod Pod tests to test body fat percentages
• Circumference measurements
• One T-Shirt for each participant
• Prize opportunities throughout the competition, including a One-Year RiverPlex Membership, gift cards to Running Central, OSF nutrition sessions, a massage from ReNew, and more!
This program is for adults age 18 and older who have a substantial amount of weight to lose (15 pounds or more).
Cost for RiverPlex members is $545 before December 22 and $645 after December 22. Cost for non-members is $595 before December 22 and $695 after December 22. Payment plans are available.
The RiverPlex will host three informational meetings to provide details and answer questions about the program on the following dates: Thursday, November 6 at 12 p.m.; Tuesday, November 18 at 4:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, December 9 at 4:30 p.m.

The Peoria Park District will host an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28 at Northtrail Park in North Peoria. Children under 10 and their parents are welcome to join us for lots of candy and prize-filled eggs! The Egg Hunt will start promptly at 12 pm.
Cost is $4 per child. Save time and register ahead of time! Pick up a registration form at the Noble Center, located at 1125 W. Lake Ave., in Peoria. Day-of registration will begin at 11:15 am.

The Princeton Coffeehouse hosts singer-songwriter Ana Egge for an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. Born in Saskatchewan, Egge burst onto the scene at age 19, when she was named "Best Singer/Songwriter" and "Best Folk Artist" at the Austin Music Awards in 1998. Now living in Brooklyn, she's collaborated with Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Steve Earle, Ron Sexsmith, and Frazey Ford of the Be Good Tanyas, among many others. Her latest album, "Bad Blood", received a 3.5 star rating by Rolling Stone.

Registration for Softball at the Peoria Park District is currently underway! The season begins April 19 for both men’s and co-rec leagues. Leagues are offered Sunday through Friday evenings. All games will be played at Peoria Stadium, located at 315 E. War Memorial Drive in Peoria.

Toy tractor collectors and enthusiasts will be out in force in Bishop Hill on March 28 and 29, 2015 to see a variety of John Deere, Case, and IH toy tractors and farm implements. Local collectors, such as Jerry Kuster, Wilbur Nelson, Lloyd Anderson and Richard Carlson are displaying their treasures for just one weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Over 100 toy tractors & implements of all shapes, sizes and brands will be exhibited at the Steeple Building Museum, located at 102 N. Bishop Hill St. These items are not for sale.
