ART Inc. is pleased to announce the reopening of its doors this summer with Summer Arts Camp & Summer Readiness classes.
2021 Summer Arts Camp includes 4 themed weeks: The World’s Your Stage, Move & Groove, Full STEAM Ahead, and Creation Station. The 4-week camp is for grades K-8 and runs June 21- July 16, 2021, Monday-Friday, Mornings 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. OR Afternoons 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Registration is $150 per week. Families have the choice of attending the morning or the afternoon session. Depending on the child’s interests, families can choose to attend one week or all four weeks of the camp. Students will showcase their skills at the end of each week for family and friends at The Romain Arts and Culture Center (The RACC).
New this year is our Summer Readiness program. After a tumultuous year, emotionally and academically, ART Inc. wants our youngest students to be prepared to enter into Kindergarten,1st, and 2nd grade. Summer Readiness offers a unique blend between an academic experience and summer camp fun in a way that gets kids excited about school! We will use games, science projects, culture, and concrete learning tools to create an engaging learning space. This mix of hands-on learning and fun helps students avoid the 'summer slip' so they are prepared to hit the ground running in the fall. Summer Readiness runs 5 weeks (June 21- July 23) Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
To ensure that all youth have the chance to experience the camp, ART, Inc offers a PAY WHAT YOU CAN system to those in need. This system is made possible by the generous donations of our board members and individuals that believe in ART Inc’s mission.
“Art is the carrot!...when parents send their children to ART Inc., they are truly investing in their child — skill-building, creative thinking, character development, confidence-building, arts education, and having the opportunity to explore new interests and expand talents that can be used in all areas of their lives” states Nikki Romain. "Having personally experienced my child struggle academically this school year, I know firsthand how important it is to maintain what our children learn, year-round.” Romain continues.
The hours after-school and during the summer are crucial for youth. They can face hurdles, that prevent them from reaching their full potential, ranging from hunger to safety. Through summer camps and after-school programs, ART Inc will help to fill in that gap by providing a safe space with the purpose to learn, have fun, stay healthy and build friendships. The camp will be held at The RACC. To register for camp you must complete the registration form which can be completed online at: www.artincpeoria.org.
